An Accord EX is coming in for a leather upgrade. Gray over black.
Hmm...
What’s this?
This is indeed a rare car. It was also a dealer transfer to the place we picked it up. Hadn’t been on the lot long.

Neato. What’s that run, a couple grand?

My cousin did that to his 2013 ex. Came out pretty good.

I know it’s a little odd, but I can’t say I like the handbrake location on most modern Hondas. It's too close to the driver's seat. I like it out and back more, like where the console begins kind of (like in older Hondas)

Question: Im going to be shopping for reupholstered seats for the land cruiser soon here in Utah and I was wondering if you could provide some insight into what I could look for or ask for to probe a shop’s quality both in labor/skill and in product. There are about a dozen places, and I suspect, like mechanics, there are probably 1 or 2 good ones and the rest are so/so. I would like to find the good ones. Also, whats a reasonable price for re-leathering and reconditioning 2 front seats so I have a reference ballpark number. Thanks

At the dealer?
How are you doing that? just installing new leather bought from honda or making your own leather patterns?

Roadwire is our parent company and they manufacture the kits we use here - sewn up in Los Angeles or Tijuana. If you were to come to our shop we’d do the whole front row for $700 plus tax, installed, with lifetime warranty. We’ve done several Cruisers in the past year and they all come in sounding like sewing machines and running wonderfully.
Roadwire kits are patterned after the factory cloth, so it will fit like factory after the initial shrinkage period. Check for quality of materials and ask to see some cars they’ve done. The day it’s installed, it should look like factory but slightly loose. You’ll see puckers and wrinkles in corners but those will fall out. Then check the backrests. Bolstered seats will show some float at first but if it feels like it’s glued to the foam then ask about it. Most vehicles don’t have the cloth glued to the foam and your LC will never have that.
Ask about their experience. Talk to any car dealer friends you may have and ask who does their accessory leather. That should guide you in the right direction.

Cutting open old footballs and gluing them to the seats.

It’s a kit from our parent company. They’re sewn up in LA or Mexico based on factory cloth patterns.

Will this supply parts for your model?

Buy one and find a decent installer that does Roadwire interiors. Ask for kit number 649384.

oh neat!!! from which company? I’ve been considering such a thing

Nowhere near that. If the person who bought this car came into our shop we’d charge them $950 plus tax. So $1017.80.

Not this one. I’m using the hounds-plaid ish stuff from a Ram truck to put a landau top on the ECTO 1 I bought.

That’s sounds pretty good. Luckily all my cars are already leather/vinyl, and the cars I really would like to have come equipped with leather to begin with.

woul you guys be able to do cloth replacement for a seat that has leather? What price would be be if I brought the material? Just 2 front seats
For the sake of this, let’s say for an E36 M3

We only do leather kits based on a factory cloth kits but we have some guys who do custom stuff. That gets expensive. They’d have to quote based on the car.

On the same note. Did you get the material you needed for your panel truck seats?

I’ve got some but I need to get some spray adhesive and I need to heat it up a bit, too. Looking forward to doing it though....
